Recommended website

spunout.ie

Our first website recommendation is Irish website www.spunout.ie

Well, what can I say about spunout.ie? For me  one word that describes itis AMAZING. For those who have never heard of it- it basically has information on anything that you could possible ever want to know as a young person. Its content on mental wellbeing is top-notch and everything is written especially for young people so doesn’t contain any of that old medical jargon. Def worth checking out! It is extremely popular with young people all over the country and if you aren’t already a regular visitor-make it a priority!

Spunout is aimed at young people aged 16-25 and is a wealth of information providing factsheets on a range of health and lifestyle issues, and linking users to relevant help services throughout the country. A key part of the site is the forum which allows young people to interact with other young people- this forum is moderated with trained moderators and is open 24 hours a day.

Many find that the peer support available on the forum is invaluable and because they are anonymous can receive support on issues that they may be afraid to discuss with their family or friends. There is also a comprehensive database of services all around the country which can offer help and support.

Finally

To leave you with a wise saying by Margaret Mead-

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
