I’m nominated for an Irish Charity Hero Award

The people at Spunout.ie have nominated me for an Irish Charity Hero award for my work as a mental health advocate. I’m a little embarrassed by this as I’m not sure If I recognise the person described below. But I would really appreciate if you could take some time to vote for me as if I get the most votes I win 1,000 Euro to use for my Unwind Your Mind Blog, which is a LOT of money.

You can vote every day and I would really appreciate your support.

Marie
“Marie Duffy is a shining light of what Ireland needs more of. She is young (25), energetic, passionate and caring. She devotes the vast majority of her time towards helping other young people overcome tough times in life.

She does this without pay or funding, and is currently unemployed. She is a graduate of media and journalism and her writing kicks ass. She was a founding member of the award winning http://www.SpunOut.ie youth website and now sits on their board of directors.

She is also involved with Headstrong and a range of other great agencies and campaigns. More recently she set-up the ‘Unwind Ur Mind’ blog with a budget of ZERO and it has had 8000 hits, with a Facebook page with over 1500 fans.

She has also a new Causes.com campaign ‘We can’t lose any more young people to suicide!’ which has grown to over 11,000 members in a short period of time. Marie Duffy is Ireland’s charity hero and should be celebrated, supported and thanked. Please vote for her!
