The Fun Theory

If stairs played musical notes when you walked on them, would you be more likely to take them?

Volkswagen has launched a popular new campaign called “The Fun Theory” which is “dedicated to the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behavior for the better.” It turns out that 66% more commuters opted for stairs over the escalators!

So what do you think, would you take the stairs if they were musical?

Just Do It!

Why is it we always have an excuse for everything? I know I do…

‘I can’t go to the gym because my ipod is broken’, ‘I can’t go cos I’ve just eaten’, ‘I’ll do it tomorrow’

It can be about fitness, losing weight, writing a blog post, doing some work

You name it, I’ll have an excuse.

But have you ever thought of the possibilities of life without those excuses? Have you considered what great things you might actually achieve?

I’ve decided that 2011 will be a year in which I push my boundaries. I’m going to try to stop all those excuses. I’m going to change those ‘I can’ts’ to ‘I cans’. I might  succeed. Or I might even fail a few times- but either way I tried.

The below video is an advertisement for Nike which challenges all those excuses you’ve ever come up with- it’s worth a watch. Let it challenge your thinking, but most of all let it challenge your behaviour.

Just be who you are, not who what people want you to be

Sometimes we’re so busy worrying about who we’re not that we forget to just be who we are supposed to be!

The video below is one example of someone (in this case a dog) being moulded to be someone that they just aren’t meant to be.

But look what happens when they are allowed to flourish and be exactly who they are meant to be. Magical stuff.

Music is definitely cheesy though and may induce a little vomit 🙂

Don’t Dis-my-ability

Since the age of 5 Bill Shannon has been using crutches. Instead of feeling handicapped, he has turned walking on crutches into an art form. In this video, watch Bill take it to the street, dance, skate and more — all to challenge images of disability through performance art. On the streets, they call him Crutch.
